Join me on June 8 to learn how to identify stressors in life and about the biochemical and neurological effects stress has on your health and in turn, your thoughts and feelings. The Center for Individual & Family Counseling will help facilitate this event by demonstrating different exercises that will help evaluate your stress level and decrease your stress through art. There will be an opportunity during our question and answer portion of the event to hear more about how I have championed this issue for our community.

Salam NeighborIn an effort to better understand refugee life, two filmmakers spent one month living alongside displaced Syrian families in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan.

As the first filmmakers ever allowed by the United Nations inside a refugee camp, they were able to get a never before seen look into this crisis.

Their experience uncovered overwhelming trauma, but also the untapped potential our uprooted neighbors possess.

I hope you’ll join us for this powerful film.
