Assemblymember Nazarian Applauds $2 Billion+ for California Child Saving Accounts

Assemblymember Nazarian Today Issued the Following Statement After Governor Gavin Newsom Proposed Historic Funding for Child Savings Accounts for Low-Income California Children:

For immediate release:

"I am thrilled that today, California is making history by investing $2 billion right now and $170 million every year moving forward in our children, their education, and their futures. Wealth inequality and the high cost of education have slammed the door shut on lower- and middle-income advancement across our state. But, by creating savings accounts for 3.7 million children, we can jumpstart their financial independence and make way for the next generation of entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, and community leaders.

For over five years, I have been advocating to expand California’s Child Savings Account programs, and I applaud Governor Newsom for securing this transformative investment in expanding these programs through this year’s budget. A child savings account will provide more than just a financial asset and a more level playing field, but a transformative sense of optimism and promise for the future for millions of children across California for decades to come."
