LOS ANGELES, CA— Assemblymember Nazarian, Chair of the Assembly Aging and Long-term Care Committee, will be introducing three pieces of legislation this week that are part of his commitment to older Californians and people with disabilities.
Assemblymember Nazarian’s Slow Streets Act Signed by Governor Newsom
AB 773, the Slow Streets Act, authored by Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian (D-Van Nuys) was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom today and will now permanently allow local jurisdictions to restrict traffic on selected streets. The legislation expands on Governor Newsom’s Emergency Executive Order, which granted local areas the ability to implement Slow Streets Programs as a response to COVID-19 public health guidelines.
“Los Angeles’ Slow Streets program has offered children, families, and constituents throughout our city the opportunity to play, exercise, and socialize, safely, in their own neighborhoods throughout the pandemic and can now permanently be expanded throughout California,” said Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian.

(Sacramento, CA) Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 465, Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian’s legislation requiring the prelicensing education courses for licensed professional fiduciaries to include at least 1 hour of instruction in cultural competency every 3 years.
Assemblymember Nazarian’s CalKIDS Program to Expand with $1.8 Billion to Low-Income Students & $186 Million On-Going Funding for Newborns & 1st Graders

(Sacramento, CA) Today California’s State Assembly passed AB 132 and expanded funding for the largest child savings account (CSA) program in the country, the California Kids Investment and Development Savings (CalKIDS) by investing $1.8 billion one-time funding and $186 million every year moving forward.
