Valley Day of Service

Join Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel on Sunday, April 30th for the Second Annual Valley Day of Service. We’ll be working with dozens of community groups and nonprofits to bring folks together to assist with service projects around the San Fernando Valley.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items at the event for the SOVA Food Pantry. We invite you to bring one can/item of food (or many!) with you to the event.

  • Help Those in Need – Assemble homeless outreach kits, pack essentials for domestic violence survivors, write letters to seniors and healthcare workers, and more (Pierce College)
  • Get Your Hands Dirty – Grab a shovel for a fun landscaping project (Pierce College)
  • Help Feed the Hungry – Help transport and sort food items for the SOVA Food Pantry (Van Nuys)
  • Beautify Our Open Space – Maintain our State Parks with painting and other projects at the Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park (Tarzana)
  • Paint and Improve a Teen Center – The Mid-Valley Y is getting a makeover … by you! (Van Nuys)
  • Clean Our Neighborhoods and the Sepulveda Basin – Pick up trash and help our community sparkle (Woodland Hills or Lake Balboa)
  • Plant a Garden – Cross the street and embrace your green thumb at the West Valley Occupational Center’s new garden (Woodland Hills)
  • Help the Global Blood Shortage -- We're partnering with Cedars-Sinai to host a blood drive on-site (Pierce College)

All volunteers should plan to meet at Pierce College at 9:00am. Additional information (including the specific address and location) for projects will be provided via email at a later date after registration is complete.
