From the Desk of Assemblymember Gabriel

Friends-

I hope this note finds you safe and well.

I’m writing to you from Sacramento, where the State Legislature has recently reconvened. We are facing interesting circumstances in the State Capitol, with remote witness testimony and committee hearings being held on the floor of the Assembly Chamber to allow for physical distancing. Despite these challenges, we are continuing to press forward with our legislative agenda and working hard to deliver the best possible constituent services.

At the top of our agenda is how to safely reopen our economy as we address the devastating impacts from the COVID-19 crisis. As we consider our options, we’re seeking feedback from community members across our Assembly District. To help with that effort, we hope that you’ll take a few minutes to complete the California Recovery Roadmap Survey at covid19.ca.gov/recovery-input/. The responses will help guide state policymakers as we consider the best way to safely reopen different types of businesses and sectors of our economy.

While many decisions are being made by local health officials, we believe that it’s important for people like you — business owners, workers, and customers — to have a say in the process. Your advice will help us build on Governor Newsom’s roadmap for modifying the statewide stay home order while maintaining the health and safety of our community.

These are challenging times and many difficult decisions lie ahead. But we are confident that the good ideas and innovative spirit of our community will help us to develop the best possible plan to meet this unprecedented moment.

Stay well and please be in touch if we can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

JESSE GABRIEL
Assemblymember, 45th District
