West Valley Food Pantry Groundbreaking Ceremony
Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel joined local leaders at the West Valley Food Pantry to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Pantry’s new expansion project to create a permanent facility to combat hunger and homelessness in the San Fernando Valley.
In 2021, Assemblymember Gabriel secured $3.5 million in the California state budget to fund this project and expand the Pantry’s outreach and services. This funding allows the nonprofit to transition out of its current makeshift space and into a permanent facility designed for providing food and groceries as well as vital services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Second Annual Valley Community Leadership Awards
Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel hosted a special awards ceremony recognizing the achievements and contributions of 13 individuals and organizations who have positively impacted the San Fernando Valley over the past year. Honorees include educators, activists, small business owners, and notable civic and community leaders. Honorees will be presented with special resolutions from the California Legislature acknowledging their service to the San Fernando Valley.
